Peru, home of many gorgeous rainforests, sculptures, bats… guano… Peruvian guano was a huge trade for decades. Excellent nutrition for your crops and flowers. But that is not what we are here to talk about today. Today I want to discuss their beer.
Cusquena began as a culmination between two brewers who noted the excellent water quality in Cusco, Peru. They decided to utilize a German style lager, made with the crystal clear waters of Peru, and brewed with the precision of the Incas, but to the standards of the German purity law of 1516. I mean, honestly, Machu Picchu is the seventh of eight wonders of the world, and a site that I hope to visit one day. The precision in Incan craftsmanship is amazing. This beer is indicative of that. Crisp flavors have led this beer to become the premium beer of Peru for more than a century. Machu Picchu has withstood the test of time, I am certain that this beer will too.
