Why do YOU think craft beer is growing? What can you add to the discussion of job satisfaction over a large paycheck and fancy car?

Myself? The industry is great. The camaraderie is great. The experiences are great. There are approximately 2600 breweries / brewpubs in the United States. I have been to fewer than 50.

Sure, I don’t make nearly as much money today as I did in my former jobs, but when I get home at the end of the day, or after an event there is a difference. When I am at a work event my job is to truly be an ambassador for my brand. My goal, is to exhibit that brand to the public, some of whom have never even heard of my brand, nor do they know my history, nor what makes my brand unique.

For the time being, it is also pleasant to visit other breweries, and their events and just be a “stranger in the crowd” to have them sell me on their beer, and to tell me what makes them unique to the world and what corner niche that their brand fills.

This is a happiness that money can’t buy.
